Mobile app
Material Exchange is proud to present our mobile app, designed for you to get the most out of our platform wherever you are. Complete mobile onboarding, find the materials you’re looking for, communicate with suppliers – it’s all here!
3D Viewer
Until you’ve got a material sample in your hand, our 3D Viewer feature offers the best alternative – now with a wide range of clothing type options to test it on including tops, pants, dresses and footwear.
Advanced search & attachments
As part of the robust smart search capabilities on our platform, you can now broaden the criteria of a search based on the availability of attached documents. This could be 3D files, certificates, reports, or additional documentation about a material. Finding the fabric or component you want is just a search away!

QR Codes
Leverage material QR codes and get all the information you need on that material within the Material Exchange platform.
3D Viewer
Apply a material image to a 3D model for a full picture of what materials look like – it’s the next best option to seeing it in person.
Sample request
Submit a request to receive a physical sample of a material or component you find on the marketplace using our new sample request feature. For products you’re unsure of, having the option to receive a sample in the mail can help you make a final decision.
In stock
Find exactly which materials are available within the marketplace using our new in stock feature. Save time by reducing back and forth with suppliers to get the products you need.

Smart search capabilities
Buyers can filter their dynamic searches to find exactly the material they’re looking for using even more search criteria as well as text search capabilities.
Categories for search now include:
- Enhanced text search
– Search through material names
– Search and add attributes to filter the list with one click
– Search through attributes (for example, color, fiber, etc.) - Suppliers are listed as filters
You’ll also have the ability to save your Smart Search so you can easily refer back to it at any point.
Dropzone improvements
We’ve made some changes to our Dropzone to help you more easily sort and organize the materials or collections you’re interested in with functionalities like drag and drop as well as folder list pop-ups to quickly organize your materials and components.
Exchanges
Browse hand-picked networks of top suppliers and their collections within specified markets to more easily access the highest quality materials you’re searching for all in one place.

Collection stories
Promote your company, materials, and collections for increased visibility to brands in your network easily and securely with our new collection stories feature! The feature includes:
- Materials
- Visuals
- Attached documents
- Supplier info
together on one concise page. Whether you’re sharing information on social media networks like Facebook and LinkedIn or through messaging platforms like WhatsApp and WeChat, a branded post will be automatically generated, allowing you to showcase what you’re offering to capture your audience’s attention!
Material QR code stickers
We’ve now added a QR code bulk export option so that presenting your materials and collections offline is as simple as possible. In-person trade shows have entered a whole new dimension as brand users can easily find and save your material data by scanning the sticker on your material sample!
Add invited users to your groups
Whether or not a user you’ve already invited to join one of your groups has registered on the platform yet, you as a supplier now have the option to add them to whichever groups you’d like, giving them automatic access as soon as they join.

QR codes
Share material information with our QR code feature. Every material you upload is now assigned a unique QR code. Export the QR code locally and then share it as you please, or print them to stick on your material samples.
3D viewer
Upload your material and component visuals so that brand users can apply them to 3D models and see how the product looks down to the tiniest detail. It’s not always possible to showcase your products in person, but with our 3D viewer, brands will have easy access to the next best thing.
Sample request
For brands who are struggling to decide on a product, our new sample request feature will help. Now brands can easily submit the request for a sample. As a supplier, you’ll benefit from knowing who to send samples to as well as reducing the number of unnecessary sample mail outs.
In stock
Mark your materials and components that are currently in stock with our new material availability feature. Providing this information to prospective buyers will reduce back and forth communication and allow for more efficient transactions.
Bulk invitations
Send showroom and/or community invitations to as many brands as you’d like by uploading your list as a csv file. This way, you’ll be able to easily share your products with more potential customers without having to manually invite each one.
Nonwoven material
Categorize your materials even more accurately with our newest material type: nonwoven. For all your materials that are neither woven nor knitted, you’ll now be able to more accurately group them for brands to find quickly.

Showrooms
Categorize your material collections and moderate exactly which brands are able to access them. Not only can you control who enters your custom showroom(s); you’ll also be able to communicate with them directly through our showroom chat, allowing you to better determine and meet their material needs.
Chat
Reach out to brands, whether through announcements or direct chats within showrooms. This interaction will allow you to stand out among suppliers and facilitate building valuable relationships with potential buyers of your materials and/or components.
Dropzone improvements
We’ve made some changes to our Dropzone to help you better manage your assets with functionalities like drag and drop for materials, certificates, documents and more as well as collection list pop-ups for fast selection.
Exchanges
Apply for membership to a curated marketplace created within specific industry niches, offering you greater visibility to the buyers who are most interested in your products.
